Okay, so if you're a Pokémon fan, you already know that February 27 is a huge deal. That's Pokémon Day — the day the very first Pokémon games launched in Japan back in 1996. And in 2026? It's extra special. This year is Pokémon's 30th anniversary. Thirty years! That's a really big deal.

And of course, Funko had to show up for it.

In this blog, I'm going to tell you everything you need to know about the Pokémon Day 2026 Funko Pop releases — what came out, what it looks like, how much it costs, and whether you should get it.

Let's go!

Wait, What Even Is Pokémon Day?

Real quick, for anyone who doesn't know — every year on February 27, Pokémon fans around the world celebrate Pokémon Day to mark the anniversary of the very first Pokémon video games launching in Japan. It's basically a birthday party for the whole Pokémon franchise.

And 2026 is Pokémon's 30th birthday. That means this year has been one of the biggest celebrations in Pokémon history. The Pokémon Company even ran a Super Bowl commercial in February 2026 to kick off the year. Yeah, a Super Bowl ad. That's how big this anniversary is.

So of course, Funko jumped in with special releases for the occasion.

The Main Release: "A Day with Pikachu: Ringing In the Fun"

The big Funko release tied to Pokémon Day 2026 is called "A Day with Pikachu: Ringing In the Fun."

This is part of the A Day with Pikachu series — a collection of monthly Pikachu figures that Funko makes exclusively with the Pokémon Center. Each figure shows Pikachu doing something different for each month of the year.

The "Ringing In the Fun" figure shows Pikachu celebrating the New Year. Pikachu is so excited about it that it even set an alarm on a Hoothoot clock so it wouldn't miss the big countdown. It's also holding a party horn that looks like the Ultra Beast Blacephalon — which is a cute little Easter egg for hardcore Pokémon fans.

The ground around Pikachu is covered in colorful confetti. It's a really fun and cheerful design.

Price: $14.99
Where: Pokémon Center (exclusive)
Purchase limit: 2 per person

This figure is part of the A Day with Pikachu monthly series, which means it's limited and won't be available forever. Once it sells out, you'll probably have to pay more on the secondhand market to get one.

The Pokémon Day 2026 Bundle (Funko + TCG)

The Pokémon Center also released a special bundle that pairs the Funko figure with a Pokémon TCG collection set.

The bundle includes:

  • The "Ringing In the Fun" Pikachu figure by Funko
  • A foil promo card featuring Pikachu with a Pokémon Day stamp
  • A metallic coin with the 30th anniversary logo
  • 3 Pokémon TCG booster packs from different expansions

This bundle is a really good deal if you collect both Funko Pops and Pokémon cards. You get a cool figure AND some TCG packs all in one box, and the coin is a nice collector's item too. This bundle was sold through the Pokémon Center as a special Pokémon Day 2026 release.

The Pokémon Day Set at Retail Stores

On top of the Pokémon Center exclusives, there was also a retail release that launched on January 30, 2026, priced at $14.99. This was the broader "Pokémon Day 2026 set" that collector accounts were calling a "first look" at when it was announced.

This set was available at participating retailers — think places like GameStop, Target, and collectible stores — making it easier to grab without having to order directly from the Pokémon Center.

New Pokémon Funko Pops Also Announced Around Pokémon Day 2026

On top of the holiday-specific figures, Funko also announced a whole wave of new Pokémon Pops around this time. Here's what was revealed:

Premium Collection (Bigger, More Detailed Figures)

Funko announced 4 new Premium Pokémon figures — these are larger and more detailed than the standard Pops:

  • Pikachu (Premium) — Released February 7, 2026
  • Venusaur (Premium) — Released March 22, 2026, priced at $19.99
  • Charizard (Premium) — Announced, release date TBA
  • Blastoise (Premium) — Announced, release date TBA

These premium versions are taller (about 4.4 inches / 11.2 cm) and made from high-quality vinyl. They show the Pokémon in action poses — like Pikachu using a lightning move, Venusaur using Vine Whip, Charizard using Flamethrower, and Blastoise using Hydro Pump. If you're a fan of the original Kanto starters, this is a really exciting wave.

Standard New Pokémon Funko Pops

Five more standard-sized Pops were also announced, all available for pre-order on Amazon around the same time:

  • Ivysaur — ~$20 (lets you complete the Bulbasaur evolution line!)
  • Electabuzz — ~$15
  • Magmar — ~$15
  • Goomy — ~$15
  • Zoroark — ~$15

Ivysaur is a big deal because it means collectors can now have Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and (eventually) Venusaur all in one line. Completing evolution lines is one of the most satisfying things in Pokémon Funko collecting.

Why Pokémon Day 2026 Is Extra Special

I want to take a second to talk about why this year's Pokémon Day hits differently.

This is Pokémon's 30th anniversary. The first games — Pokémon Red and Green — came out in Japan on February 27, 1996. That means an entire generation of people grew up with Pokémon, and now they're adults who collect Funko Pops and TCG cards.

The Pokémon Company went all out this year. There was a Super Bowl LX commercial featuring Jigglypuff. There was a Pokémon Presents livestream on February 27. New LEGO Pokémon sets launched. Special in-game events ran in Pokémon GO, Pokémon TCG Pocket, Pokémon Masters EX, and more.

And of course, Funko was part of the celebration.

The "Ringing In the Fun" Pikachu figure + the TCG bundle make for a really sweet 30th anniversary keepsake. If you're someone who's been a Pokémon fan since the 90s or early 2000s, this kind of thing hits you right in the nostalgia.

Should You Buy the Pokémon Day 2026 Funko Pop?

Here's my honest opinion:

Yes, if you're a Pokémon fan. The "Ringing In the Fun" figure is cute, well-designed, and part of a popular monthly series. At $14.99 it's affordable, and Pokémon Center exclusives tend to go up in value once they sell out.

Definitely yes if you also collect TCG. The bundle with the foil promo card and 3 booster packs is genuinely good value. You get a collectible figure AND TCG content in one purchase.

Maybe wait on the Premium figures. Pikachu and Venusaur are out, but Charizard and Blastoise haven't released yet. If you want the full set of Kanto starter final evolutions, it might be worth waiting until all four are available before buying.

Grab the "A Day with Pikachu" figure soon. These monthly figures are limited. Once they sell out from the Pokémon Center, prices go up on the resale market. If you want one at retail price, don't wait too long.
